A thought for all - As Expressed

Hey guys, see I am back in action...
I was wondering what should I write this time... the world is so much filled with various events and incidents. Should I write about the politicians or should I write about the recent terrorist attacks in Mumbai?? Just before writing here, I was reading one of the blogs of Shobhaa De... O God, she is simply brilliant, in every way. I wish I could have a flair and articulation like her...
Anyways, as I was saying what should I write!!!!

Politicians in today's genre making the Breaking News..ahh what an Irony! They truly deserve to be written about nowadays. I sometimes presume, what if every citizen offers these leaders a morning cup of tea and make them realise of the "Jaago Re" mantra.
When the US has come a long way from the prejudice of Apartheid (racial segregation on the basis of skin color) and now they have ceremoniously accepted Barack Obama (first Black President) as their Leader..why are we still jostling with the same age old stagnant people like Bal Thackrey who says North Indians have no right to live in Mumbai...Damn It! He must be, then, not aware of the clause in Constitution that in India, every citizen has the right to live and earn staying in any part of the country unless he has a criminal record.
Or lets talk of M Karuna Nidhi and his beloved daughter Kozhimodi, who is, however, at present, spending a comfortable vacation in Tihar Jail...and yet after some day she would be coming out gloriously.
What about Azmal Kasab, a 23 year old Pakistani convict in 26/11 Mumbai attack in 2008...mercilessly killed so many innocent people in it...he has been our guest convict for the last three years!!! Does it take 3 years to finish a trial of bloody criminal? Had it been the rule of Adolf Hitler, he would have had his destiny by now on the firing squad.

And what about the people who became martyers... Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who valorously stood for his country and his duty at the cost of nothing but his LIFE! Nobody represented the Kerala government in Major Unnikrishnan's funeral. Local and national media criticized the decision of the politicians. However the Chief Minister of Kerala V. S. Achuthanandan and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan called on the Unnikrishnan's family. Sandeep's father K. Unnikrishnan was angry, criticized the visit and asked them to leave. He even threatened to commit suicide if any politician from Kerala entered his home. Later, V. S. Achuthanandan told media that had it not been for Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, not even a dog would have visited his parents' house. This again invited harsh criticism from the media and public. However, Achuthanandan stated that he would not apologize to the Major's family. What an insensitive and a boorish lot!
As I was saying Shobhaa De wrote in one of her posts, that it is indeed a sad story that Mumbai every time is terror - hit and it is the fake concern of the media that even adds as an oxygen in the rage; as she stated, "The same overheated 'Breaking News' from egotistic anchors faking concern". It is true that Mumbai is as vulnerable as it was even at the time of its first bomb blast in 1993!!!
But as the situation changes in West Bengal nowadays... Perhaps West Bengal is a more political concerned and active states than the others. And what do you need terrorists for when Men in White have already terrorised the people in Bengal for the last 34 years...but its definitely a Jaago time for the Democracy as understood by the West - Bengalees (if I could use a word like that)!!! It was truly an event to watch dethroning of the so-called Democracy and more Autocracy of the Left Front Government that monopolised the Bengal Politics for long 34 years. And it is definitely a glorious moment for an ordinary looking, often under-rated, demoralised lady called Mamata Banerjee. It is the story of a woman with no influential background to the most competitive Chief Minister to date - A Path of Thorns to a Moment of Glory, indeed!

I am although not sure of the TMC's ideologies and agenda, I mean i would have to have a second thought before I could support them, but I am simply awestruck with the confidence, with the courage and the struggle that Ms. Banerjee has portrayed till date. I am not getting into the projects and the policies she is forming and wishes to implement to make the state better, but I surely believe she is a lesson that all of us, especially Women, should learn and bow down to.

So I am almost at the verge of ending my thoughts for today... what I would really highlight is that India, is a land of braves, glories, culture and heritage...and somewhere we are losing the glory because of our petty selfish interest..Yes, you can count me in that lot too.... I am no radical or a fundamentalist to change this platitude, but I wish to spare thoughts for those families who have lost their loved ones due to the gruesome mentality of our own chosen few whom we term "Leaders"...Don't call them "Leader", a Leader is never off the ship if it is in turbulence...YES, THEY ARE POLITICIANS AND NEVER POLITICALLY CORRECT.
I wish to end with a note ... Stand for your Vanity, if the world says so... here I would like to quote Shaheed Bhagat Singh as he writes in Why I Am An Atheist?

Let us see how steadfast I am. One of my friends asked me to pray. When informed of my atheism, he said, “When your last days come, you will begin to believe.” I said, “No, dear sir, Never shall it happen. I consider it to be an act of degradation and demoralisation. For such petty selfish motives, I shall never pray.” Reader and friends, is it vanity? If it is, I stand for it.

Thanks for being there

Bye for the day!!!

Just me this time

Hello guys, I am back again, although a little late today. Its probably because I was feeling a little lazy today. A time often comes when you just don't want to be with anybody... a sense of detachment works continuously and you just want to be all Alone. This is where I just recalled something; I remembered one of my professors, she was one of my favorite teachers... a very glorious soul I ever came across... but unfortunately she is no more with us. Her name was Dr. Madhumati Ghosh, she used to teach us western philosophy. Once she told, although ALONE and LONELY seem to be synonymous terms... but there is a distinction in their approach....

LONELY is a negative word, when Lonely, none speaks to you....

Where as ALONE is a far more positive term - It is believed When Alone....It is GOD whom one speaks to and vice - versa. What a delightful explanation isn't it???

But lets not get into the philosophical elucidation, what I really enjoy is Being Alone... I don't know whether God speaks to me or not, but I am never doomed when I am just with me... perhaps, I am not a loner myself!!!
I enjoy being myself... I love to sit on my couch and relish the essence of the infinite darkness, speak to myself, often question myself, sometimes confess my faults and disputes to myself which probably I go on hiding from the conscious mind and the merciless world. It is a positive practice you see... often crowd, or too many people just make you tired, it might so happen that you just feel exhausted and be lonely in the crowd.
Take a break with yourself....
Just be yourself....you always have the freedom to scribble down the thoughts and the observation you make...may be you find that life is not so stereotype journey, as you were thinking as of now....
If you are not that fond of Darkness... then read good books, watch movies you like, any movies
(even if it has been considered as FLOP), but you like it!!!!

What is it that makes me happy??? There are lot of things to be penned...Rainbow colors are vibrant enough to make you happy, but in Kolkata you hardly seem to see Rainbow, mostly shrouded polluted air.
My son's smile and his latest developing babbles, his pranks make me happy... I mean its just so beautiful to see him grow up...
My friends make me happy... spending a day with them, chilling out.. or even just a phone call make me feel so great... and now thanks to the Social Networking sites who have made the world so small that one can always get their lost friend and reunite and relive the lost moments....you always can chat with them and pour it out all.

I am not perfect although, I am often sneaky, annoying, over - demanding and most importantly dominating..i might be wanting to deplore these, but as you guys must be knowing...old habits and bad habits die hard!!!!

Life has not been that extravagant as I thought I could make it... but often I really indulge myself into many luxurious things...like taking a cab instead of a bus or an auto, or buying something expensive that I presently ought not to...but these things often gives you the pleasure of setting yourself apart from the middle class hazards of life.
I wish I could have a flamboyant series of photograph to display ... but to be honest I hate myself in the photographs...that's probably because I am overweight and not sporty with the contemporary outfits.. I wish I could threw myself into skirts, jeans, wrap arounds..etc.. but no they just don't seem to be still in with me.

There are many things I wish I spoil myself into, but time has its own demands and, perhaps, asking me to be little more patient with Life. But I can always express myself with my pen...oops.... its keypad / key board nowadays.

I never wanted to be perfect... as my loopholes make me what I am... My obscurities build my character. I never wanted to change as in that can make me regret my decisions...
I live my life on my own terms... I build them, break them, rebuild them, modify them.. but they are just mine...

Bye for now... and be happy with yourself!!!!

Suspense captures me

Today I am going to focus on something I really love and enjoy reading. That is I love reading Suspense and detective novels. It is since childhood I am so attached to Satyajit Ray's Feluda series, as I own the entire collection. After sometime my father got me the volumes of Byomkesh Bakshi by Saradindu Bandopadhyay....and although these books have gathered the yellowish traces of TIME, yet they are so my favorite. Not only that, I loved Enid Blyton's Famous Five, Pandav Goenda (Bengali version of Famous Five) too.

But these are all I cherished in childhood (although I flick them whenever I get time), later in High School I came across the series of Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes in our school library.

Agatha Christie series is simply brilliant.....You know, the stories start with a very dull and boring elaboration of the characters and the various incidents of their lives, but all of a sudden they take an interesting turn and captures the reader's attention, one just wouldn't give it up until the curtain is down. Towards Zero, Cat Among the Pigeons, Sad Cypress, And then there were none...are simply marvelous. Her main detectives, Hercule Poirot, a weird looking Belgian fellow and Miss Marple , an old English lady living very ordinarily with an extraordinary insight for trivial details around and with immense brilliance to relate them to solve a case, are so brilliantly portrayed.
Despite there are stories which are without these two characters... as i said TOWARDS ZERO, is a finely written and a spine chilling elaboration of a murder mystery.

I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes too, but the s cases seem to be too much following Theory of Deduction rather than Evidential. The solution of the cases were more based on assumption rather than concrete evidences.
Although Sir Doyale did make the Character of Holmes as an immortal stalwart of Crime Investigation and as you might me knowing 22B, Baker Street, London (resident of Sherlock Holmes), is a famous tourist spot. I personally, find Sherlock Holmes with his friend Dr. Watson bore much similarities with our very own Byomkesh and Ajit. Anyways, as I was saying.... Cases of Sherlock Holmes were much based Theory of Deduction.... Although HOUND OF BASKERVILLES earned a great name and inspired movies adaptation too.. but my favorite of Sherlock Holmes were Silver Blaze, The Adventures of Speckled Band, Blue Curbancle...

But since Sir Conan Doyale depicted the classic way of the then England and the livelihood of the English men and women and even the language was much of classic style and hence contained the usage of old thesaurus.  Consequently it becomes a less comprehensible to the modern genre... where as Christie seemed to be more easy and in with the modern times.

One author's work I am yet to go through that is Edgar Allan Poe... I havenot read any by him.

Much later although Sidney Sheldon also captured a lot of interest... although we can not call his work to be Investigative, but it had all the thrills, passion, deception and those what make his work a complete package.
The Other Side of Midnight, Bloodline, Rage of Angels, Doomsday Conspiracy, Morning Noon Night and to name many... are all brilliantly penned.

Finally the one author I truly enjoyed reading was William Diehl .... his famous work is PRIMAL FEAR...having the movie adaptation of same name starring Richard Gere and Edward Norton. It is a psychological thriller... I recommend this book to all.

Although I also like reading other kinds like Romance,Adventure... but to me nothing can beat Suspense and Thrills.

Well, as I have come to end the journey of this piece, I wished to say to all.... books are man's best friend and talk to you, relate to you just as the way you want them to... So guys read as much as you can... this is something you need not care about the limits.....

Thanks for today

Have a great Day!!!

Drenched Kolkata

Kolkata is all drenched since yesterday. Its been raining profusely... although it is quite a hassle for the office goers, but I simply enjoy monsoon. Just day before yesterday I met this lady at the Starmark outlet, she told me that she has been living in Manchester for last 15 years and she misses Kolkata so much. I asked her what does she miss, she named two things - 1. Durga Puja and 2. Monsoon and the Water logged City. She was so positive about this.... you see that's the beauty of the city. The drainage system is never improved and life continues as ever.
Some pessimist soul would comment that it is a luxury if you appreciate monsoon, because probably they think one who does not have to go out for work, one who can sit beside the window and look outside with a poetic approach has the luxury of appreciating and glorifying this weather.
But guys I have been a working woman once and have been quite active in going to office in this weather too. It has all been a wonderful experience.

You see, it is all in your mindset... it is the way how you look into the matter, and as they say "Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder".
Everything has its own beauty and one must enjoy, appreciate and live every bit of it. Otherwise life would have been such a drab journey to traverse.
Instead of counting the potholes in the city, you can count the innumerable joyful moments that can make your life as serene as heaven...

One little advice - PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR ANY BIG MOMENT TO COME TO CELEBRATE, LIVE EVERY LITTLE MOMENT, CELEBRATE THEM  BECAUSE HAPPINESS LIES IN THESE TRIVIALITIES... JUST TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A TRUE EVENT.

Thanks for being there

Bye for now

Female foeticide

I was watching a program called CRIME PATROL in Sony Entertainment Television where they were showing a shocking incident of Female Infanticide. Can you imagine, the ignorance of our culture... this is 2011, 21st Century where a country is having a Woman President, one of the richest and most influential figures is an Indian Woman... Ms. Indra Nooyi, CEO of Pepsico, standing there people still think that Family Chronology is more important than individual glory and to maintain that Chronology one needs male child...but the basic question is, has a man become that capable enough to give birth... who do you need to have a male child, who is going to bear the child for 10 months...i believe the science has not progressed so far to make a man capable of that... otherwise the term "MOTHER" would have become obsolete by now!!!
Future estimation shows that there could be 25 million "surplus male" by 2020. In a society with an artificial shortage of women, a combination of surplus of males and increased upward mobility of females results in accumulation of unmarried, lower-class males, who tend to be violence-prone. It is because of this sex discrimination and sex - selection habits India has been witnessing a magnanimous number in the crime wave.
In a society with an artificial shortage of women, a combination of surplus of males and increased upward mobility of females results in accumulation of unmarried, lower-class males, who tend to be violence-prone and driving women into Forced Marriages. Also Demographic Decline is another problem that is cropping up.

But what I have written above are just the social impact of said social malady... but my point is more humanist. I am not very keen on figures and statistics, what I am more concerned of is the illogical, ignorant and stagnant persona of our society. What education do we get from our parents, from our teachers... do they ask you to kill an innocent life before it is born?? Are you aware of the consequences if there is no women left on earth, the mother earth will stop procreating human being...please friends, especially Men... watch the movie called "Matrubhoomi" and you will understand the horrific aftermath if there is artificial shortage of women in the country....

Also please spare a thought for the mother who have lost their dreams due to the boorishness of their husbands and uncultured family - in - law.

And last but not the least - MEN, please please get out of your mothers' shelter and have the guts to stand up for the partner you have to live with... ask your mother to stay out of your marital privacy and respect your wife that she deserves...

Thanks for today... hoping to come back with something new tomorrow

Hey good morning!

Good Morning

Its been almost sleepless night! I have been listening to my mobile radio quite late - may be 2'o clock.
Well, i was planning what could I possibly write this morning. Does it have to be a personal stuff or does it have to be just the general ones....
I was wondering who could it be I could spare a thought for!!! Kidding....:)

I was thinking of my son, Sreyanshu....it is amazing to watch how a new born grows up. He is 1yr 10 months, we are thinking of putting him into a school now....although his father has big dreams for him, I don't want to impose anything on him. I want him to grow up to be a self - reliant person in future. He should know what is best for him, ofcourse, we parents, are always there to guide him, advice him and be friends to him rather than just being parents.

Attachment is good, but let us not suffocate the child with our overwhelming parentage...so that he never gets his own space.
But being a mother is different... one gets to evolve as a woman...although the efficiencies of a mother has always been questioned by the society, by relatives and even sometimes by her own husband...atleast I face it!!
A woman always has been an issue of controversy isn't it???? Never she could have satisfied the world....yet it is said THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE RULES THE WORLD!!!

This is me after 3 years...

Hey guys....

You must be wondering what is this lady upto ... why not using a blog that she has created three years before. To be honest with you, i have not been that a Blogger then... ah well, a less savvy indeed!!!
But practice brings out the perfection in you i suppose... so have been trying to re-open this for quite a sometime... i have been successful i believe...i hope...

well lets see if any one catches me up here and posts a comment... then i shall be really excited!

Its been quite late today although... its 12.27 am of 19th July....well I shall be back after a short night sleep, till then guys carry on with your dreams, and i shall be back in the morning...
till then
buys, tatas

Good night
Sleep tight

Love for all

Sam
